AHMEDABAD: Arvind Ltd, a textile company, has stated that the workers at its Naroda facility here have ended their three-week long strike.
According to a company statement, “The workers of our Naroda denim plant and Ankur Textiles, a division of the company, have called off the strike unconditionally and have resumed the work from third shift on June 29, 2012.”
On June 4, the strike started with nearly 200 workers of the Naroda denim plant stopped doing work.
The firm's Naroda unit employs nearly 3,400 employees.
Moreover, nearly 550 workers of Ankur Textiles, a division of the company which produces voiles fabrics, also became part of the strike on June 17.
The plant is situated at Naroda Road and it mainly manufactures denim fabrics. It got an annual capacity of 84 million meters out of 108 million meters of the overall denim capacity of the firm.
