West Bengal to get 16,500 IT jobs from TCS by 2015

NEW DELHI:  The campus area of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)  in West Bengal is spread over 40 acres and it is expected to be completed by 2015. The company is trying to create around 16,500 jobs for IT and software professionals post-establishment of the new campus.
 

 

Located near Kolkata at Rajarhat, the TCS new campus is said to be a strategic approach towards the growth of the company. CFO and Executive Director TCS, Dr Mahalingam said, “We are making our presence in the Kolkata and will work with dedication in close association with the state stakeholders to offer good job opportunities to the local Kolkata talent and would strive to deliver high-class services to our clients from this region.”

 

 

He also informed that first phase of the campus construction process would be completed by the 2014’s first quarter while the last stage of the construction is expected to be accomplished by the last few months of 2014. Around 7000 vacancies will be ready as soon as the first phase is complete whereas remaining 9,500 vacancies would be available with the last phase. The SME (small, medium sector would receive impetus if the IT sector is further strengthened in the state.
