Vijaya Bank surges domestic, NRE term deposit rates

BANGALORE: Vijaya Bank has hiked the interest rates on domestic term deposits and NRE term deposits with effect from April 1, 2012.

Now, the senior citizens will get an extra 0.5% across categories. The interest rate for domestic term deposits below Rs 5 crore for 180 days to less than one year will stand at 8.5% with an annualised yield of 8.77%.

The interest rate for both domestic term deposits and NRE deposits below Rs 5 crore for one year to less than two years will be 9.6% with an annualised yield of 10.44%; two years to less than three years – 9.5% with an annualised yield of 10.84%; three years to less than five years – 9.3% with an annualised yield of 11.67%; five years and above – 9.25% with an annualised yield of 14.95%.
