LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government has declared new land acquisition policy from farmers. The state Chief Minister Mayawati has termed it as historic and the best in the country. She has also urged the UPA Government to follow the same for the whole country.
She has further elaborated that her party and the government would be pressurising the Centre to unveil the amended land acquisition policy in the upcoming session of the Parliament. Mayawati has also said that her government was the first in India to bring a land acquisition policy after receiving inputs from the representatives of farmers from all across the state.
Ms Mayawati has announced that the new policy has come into effect from June 2, but has also decided that it won't be applicaple to those who had already taken the compensation.
