Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi not resigned yet, says Pranab Mukherjee

NEW DELHI: Amid the resignation news doing rounds, Union Finance Minister has today clarified in Lok Sabha that Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi has not resigned.

He also confirmed that the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has received a communication from the Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to sack Mr Trivedi and her request is under active consideration of the PM.

Moreover, Mr Mukherjee also denied the presentation of any letter of resignation from the Railway Minister to the Prime Minister.

TMC leader Mr Sudip Bandhopadhya, said that the party had not asked Dinesh Trivedi to resign.
