JAMSHEDPUR: Tata Steel's managing director HM Nerurkar has been appointed as the President of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM). He is replacing M Narayana Rao.
Accordingly, Nerurkar will head the Institute as its president from August 1, as informed by JC Marwah, Secretary General of IIM.
Earlier, former Tata Steel Managing Director, B Muthuraman held the post from 2006-07.
Expressing his gratitude on the appointment, Nerurkar said he is overwhelmed to become the President of this notable organisation that has been active in the field of metallurgy and metallurgical sciences for over six decades.
