Tata Motors' sales rose 12% during Aug

MUMBAI: Tata Motors has posted 12% rise in net sales to 71,826 units last month.

The auto major's domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles in August rose by 13% to 67,453 units as compared to 59,874 units during August, 2011.

Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales in the local market was at 45,142 units last month as against 43,045 units sold in August 2011, witnessing 5% jump.

The light commercial vehicle sales rose to 30,461 units, clocking 16% rise as compared to 26,344 units sold in August 2011.

Furthermore, the medium and heavy vehicle sales was at 14,681 units, witnessing 12% decline as against 16,701 units. The passenger vehicles sales rose by 33% to 22,311 units as compared to 16,829 units sold in the same month last year.
