CHENNAI: In attempts to provide higher education to the rural students, the state chief minister has decided to upgrade 100 state-run high schools into higher secondary schools, with the allocation of over Rs 40 crore for the same.
In the same move, 900 post graduate teachers vacancies and 100 headmasters posts will be created in these upgraded schools.
The move would entail an expenditure of Rs 40.26 crore annually. The development will also fulfill twin objectives of rural students, access to higher education and employment opportunities.
