CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre has decided to organise three-day Summer School on Astronomy and Astrophysics for the students studying in classes 8-9.
The programme will be held from May 17-19, between 10 am and 4 pm at the BM Birla Planetarium, Periyar Science and Technology Centre, Gandhimandapam Road, Guindy.
Moreover, the topics like fundamentals of celestial coordinate systems, solar system, studies on moon, birth and evolution of stars, galaxies, cosmology, telescopes in astronomy, will be focussed upon.
It will also have practical sessions for observing stars, planets, deep sky objects and the sun, using modern telescopes. Just 50 students will be admitted on first-come-first served basis.
