NEW DELHI: Posting decline for two months, the overall subscriber base of GSM operators climbed by nearly 240,000 to 671.91-million users during last month, said industry chamber Cellular Operators Association of India (
COAI).
The net subscriber base at the end of September touched 671.67 million users. During September, the subscriber base had slipped by 1.9 million users after 7.1-million plunge in August.
The key three operators - Airtel, Vodafone and Idea - which are responsible for nearly 68% of the GSM market, had successfully added more than 1.2-million users during October.
Both Uninor and Videocon lost 1.1 million users and 59,151 users, respectively last month. The subscriber base of Uninor was at 41.03 million and Videocon's reached 4.39 million by October-end.
