LUCKNOW: Steel firms need to emphasis on rural marketing, according to the Union Steel Minister, Beni Prasad Verma as rural markets are important to push growth of not just the steel industry but also other industries. This statement came while he was addressing gathering of customers and rural dealers of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (Visakhapatnam steel plant) here.

India's rural markets have potential to become bigger as compared to the markets in few of the developed nations in the coming few years.

Verma focussed on the role of dealers in ensuring that the demand for steel is being met.

He inaugurated RINL’s customer portal for direct e-sales and released 'Customer Charter. He disbursed dealership certificates to the newly-appointed dealers. The meet has witnessed the participation of over 250 major customers and dealers of the RINL-VSP from across India.
