THIRUVANANTPURAM: Public sector lender State Bank of Travancore, has raised its base rate by 0.50 per cent and its benchmark prime lending rate (BPLR) by 50 basis points. The new rate will come into effect from January 03, 2011.
The base rate (BR) is changed from existing rate of 8.00% to 8.50% and the benchmark prime lending rate (BPLR) has been revised from existing rate of 13.25% to 13.50%.
The base rate is the lowest rate below which banks cannot offer loans.
