NEW DELHI: The prices of silver moved up by 0.39 per cent to Rs 52,770 per kg at today's futures trade on the enlarged positions of the speculators tracking positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the silver for delivery in March climbed Rs 204 or 0.39 per cent to Rs 52,770 per kg with a business turnover of 2,031 lots. Similarly, the delivery of white metal for the May contract also jumped Rs 210 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 53,869 per kg with a trade volume of 68 lots.
The market analysts attributed the gains of the white metal at futures trade by the fresh positions created by speculators amid firm global trend as the weak dollar spurred the demand for the precious metals as a safe haven.
In the mean time, the silver futures increased by 3.6 per cent to $29.81 an ounce in New York’s Comex.
