SilkAir to commence Visakhapatnam-Singapore non-stop flight from Oct 28

VISHAKHAPATNAM: SilkAir, which is the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has decided to start thrice-a-week nonstop flights between Visakhapatnam and Singapore from October 28.
 

General Manager of SilkAir India GM Toh stated that SilkAir was the first airline to offer non-stop international air connectivity from Visakhapatnam. The new services would operate with Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, which will feature both business and economy class cabins. The flights would run three times per week. It will depart on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with next day return flights.

 

Toh said, “This new route will also give business travellers access to one of the most important commercial cities in India, while introducing a great sightseeing destination for the tourists.”

 

Visakhapatnam will emerge as SilkAir's eighth destination in India and along with Singapore airlines' flights to six other places.

 
 

After the introduction of this route, SilkAir's international route network would expand to 42 destinations in 12 nations.
 

The airline is slated to commence its booking for the inaugural flight from October 15.
