Shoppers Stop announces opening of 1 Crossword, 2-Mothercare stores

MUMBAI: Shoppers Stop Ltd has announced the opening of one 'Crossword' franchisee store at Siliguri. It is part of Shoppers Stop Ltd's wholly owned arm Crossword Bookstores Ltd. With the starting of this store, there are presently 86 'Crossword' stores.

Moreover, the firm has now started two 'Mothercare' stores as 'Shop in Shop' store within Shoppers Stop at Ahmadabad and Pune. With the opening of these two stores, the firm has now got 36 'Mothercare' stores, with 6 stores on standalone and 30 stores on shop in shop basis.

Meanwhile, Retail chain Shoppers Stop Ltd (SSL) has stated that its net profit has surged by 12.06% to Rs 19.5 crore during the second quarter ended September 30. The firm had registered a net profit of Rs 17.4 crore in the same period last financial year.

The gross retail turnover of the firm has risen to Rs 557.4 crore during the second quarter ended September 30 as against Rs 481.4 crore in the same period last fiscal.
