Sensex opens 0.5% higher in early trade today on Reliance, HDFC, L&T shares rise

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex appreciates by 0.5 per cent on early trade today. The rise was witnessed on the wake of positive gains in Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and L&T and on strong Asian markets.

At 9:18 AM, the 30 share BSE index was trading higher by 0.7 per cent at 16,992.78 points strengthened by the gains witnessed in the shares of Reliance Industries which were up by 1.39 per cent, HDFC Bank Ltd's shares higher at 1.5 per cent and L&T Ltd was trading 0.6 per cent higher.

The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) index was trading 0.5 per cent lower at 5,093.80 points.

“The trend deciding level for the day is 16,749 on Sensex and 5,027 levels on the Nifty. If NIFTY trades above this level during the first half-an-hour of trade then we may witness a further rally up to 17,009-17,155/5,111-5,157 levels,” as per the report released by the Angel Broking.
