Sensex ends today's session with 112.83-points slip

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex has ended today's trading session slipping by 112.83 points or 0.66% to 16,877.35. In a similar fashion, the broad-based National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty has plunged 35 points or 0.68% to 5,083.50.

Moreover, the volume toppers were SBI, Tata Steel, L&T, RIL and ICICI Bank. The major Sensex losers have been Infosys, TCS, RIL, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Tata Motors and L&T, while the major gainers were M&M, HDFC and ITC.

Today, the stock market have become volatile as N the benchmark index fell back into the red after moving over 1,600 points between negative and positive territories. In the early morning session, Sensex has plunged 558 points but then the stock market has witnessed a smart recovery.

Analysts are of the opinion that the brief recovery has been possible due to positive opening in the European markets.
