MUMBAI: Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced the appointment of SV Murali Dhar Rao as executive director.
Rao, an MBA in Finance, will head the Investment Management Department--mutual funds,foreign institutional investors and custodians and Collective Investment Scheme, which were earlier managed by S Ravindran, executive director. Ravindran will now head the corporate finance department.
In his previous stint, Rao was chief general manager with SEBI. During the long tenure of over twenty years at Sebi, Rao has worked in various departments and handled work relating to issue management, corporate restructuring, policy matters relating to secondary market, administration and inspection of stock exchanges and depositories.
Moreover, he has also represented SEBI in various working groups of IOSCO.
