SBI's 2nd exclusive branch for women customers opens in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the opening of an exclusive branch for women customers in the state. The branch, Vasundhara Jubilee Senorita Banking Centre, is only second such branch in India.

This branch is meant for the tech-savvy, educated women customers also consisting of entrepreneurs.

Mr A Krishna Kumar, Managing Director, State Bank of India, said, “With play room for kids and other facilities, women customers can handle their banking transactions in a safe and family atmosphere.” This statement has come at the formal inauguration of the branch.

An account in the branch can only be opened by women as principal account holders. The second applicant may be any person of her choice like her spouse, parents or even siblings.

Until now, there are no restrictions on the initial deposit needed to open an account. The branch also got a self-service kiosk along with all the modern banking amenities.

In the past, the first Vasundhara Jubilee Senorita Banking Centre has been opened by SBI in Lucknow.
