MUMBAI: The Indian Rupee has risen by 13 paise to Rs 44.37 against the US Dollar in today's early trade. It was strengthened by the gains posted by the Euro and the other currencies against the US Dollar internationally.
The Rupee's surge has the support of a higher opening in the stock market. In the last session, the Rupee had ended 5 paise lower at Rs 44.50/51 per US Dollar with the help of fresh dollar demand amid poor local equities.
The forex dealers are of the opinion that dollar weakness against the Euro and the other currencies internationally after a new European-IMF bailout pact for Greece had been announced to keep the sentiment of Rupee firm.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex has appreciated by 159.80 points 0.87% to 18,595.99 in today's opening trade.
