Rajasthan govt removes 199 mobile towers, 34 lakh customers hit

JAIPUR: The state government removed nearly 199 mobile towers installed atop school buildings in Rajasthan, which hit the mobile services in nearly 40 towns.

All these towers with antennas of cellular players which were installed on schools' buildings stopped radiating signals post 9 pm last night.
 
Nearly 34-lakh mobile customers, consisting 25 lakh in Jaipur, are hit by this order.
 
Sudipto Chowdhary, CEO, Rajasthan, Bharti Airtel, said, “The services of cellular companies are affected and it will take around 30-90 days to restore the full services in affected areas.”

According to the order dated August 22, 2012 passed by Rajasthan High Court and also a letter by State Education department, the telecom players were needed to remove all mobile towers along with the antennas installed on govt and private schools.
