NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) alumnus Raghuram Rajan will be taking over as the new Chief Economic Advisor to Indian government. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi before he joined IIM-A. Rajan will be taking reins from the outgoing Chief Economic Adviser Kaushik Basu.
He later joined the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He comes with experience of working as Economic Counsellor and Director of research at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) between 2003- 2007.
Centre has received nod from all the needed regulatory bodies for the appointment of Raghuram Rajan as the new chief economic adviser.
