CHANDIGARH: Punjab has made a demand for coal linkages to the central government for its upcoming thermal plants.
Earlier this week, a delegation consisting Punjab Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh, Secretary Power Anirudh Tiwari and Punjab State Power Corporation CMD K D Chaudhry met with Coal Secretary Alok Perti also met to discuss the issue.
The delegation discussed the matter of coal linkage of 1980 MW at Talwandi Sabo and 1320 MW thermal plant at Rajpura.
Due to the growing crisis of domestic coal in India, state-run Coal India Limited sought few changes regarding the quantum of the domestic coal supply before inking the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) with the power firms.
