NEW DELHI: National Skill Development Corporation’s (NSDC), a not-for-profit body established by finance ministry, is eyeing to appoint India Inc for the skill development projects in India. NSDC is currently negotiating with more than 15 Indian firms, consisting of Tata, Reliance, Bharti Airtel and Future Group.
The sectors that would be given the utmost priority consists of textile and apparel, retail, hospitality, automobile, healthcare, construction, IT.
Mr Dilip Chenoy, Managing Director and CEO, NSDC, said, “As part of first public-private participation (PPP) initiative by the corporation, we have a clear mandate to reach the government’s overall target to train 500 million people by 2022.”
