NEW DELHI: No dual pricing regime for diesel will be introduced to cut down state- run oil marketing firms' subsidy burden, in fact a better subsidy mechanism is currently worked upon, stated Mr Murli Deora, petroleum minister.
Mr Deora, stated, “ There is no way you can have dual prices for diesel. On a petrol pump, you can not have one price for cars and another price for farmers.”
For the better subsidy management, a new mechanism is in the pipeline. Currently, the retail pricde of diesel is Rs 2.87 a litre.
