NEW DELHI: Auto maker Nissan Motor India, has witnessed a three-fold growth in sales during March.
The car manufacturer has registered its highest ever monthly sales in India at 5,880 units in March 2012, as compared to 2,101 units during the year-ago period.
Ishida Takayuki, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “Breaking the 5,000 sales mark after just 20 months of operation, and repeating the feat for three successive months is a milestone in our continuing development in what is one of Nissan’s most strategically important markets.”
During 2011-12, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) sold 33,275 units as opposed to 13,043 units last fiscal. Nissan Sunny has sold 14,164 units since its launch in September 2011.
In FY12, the Nissan Micra sold 18,650 units, clocking an increase of over 50 per cent from the previous year.
