PUNE: Nearly 50,000 farmers in this state may benefit from a pilot project, which will offer weather-related informations using Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with the aim to bring improvement in land productivity and also strengthen crop production.
This pilot project is being unveiled jointly by the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) and India Meteorological Department (IMD). It will be financed under the Farmers' Technology Transfer Fund (FTTF).
The project will develop awareness, raise the farmers' knowledge and capacity building for strengthened income via the adoption of new technologies, cut of costs, said NABARD spokesman Subodh Abhyankar.
