NEW DELHI: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 for admission to premier B-schools such as IIMs and other institutes kicked off yesterday and has been carried out smoothly. Reports suggest that more than 4,400 candidates appeared on the first day.
Soumitra Roy, managing director of Prometric India, said, “We are pleased that the first day of testing has ended smoothly, and will continue to stay focused on providing candidates with the best possible experience.”
Prometric stated that 4,429 candidates registered for CAT. There are no scheduled tests today and exams are slated to resume on October 19.
The test will continue in staggered format until November 6 and the results will be out on January 9, 2013.
Reports suggest that 2.15-lakh CAT vouchers have been sold this year for the admission to IIMs and also other management institutes.
