MUMBAI: Automobile player Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has seen 28% rise in its sales during May to 43,988 units as compared to 34,323 units during the corresponding month last year.
The automaker's domestic sales was at 39,938 units in May as compared to 32,159 units in the same month of 2011, witnessing rise of 24%.
The passenger vehicles segment, which consists of the UVs and Verito, has seen 27% jump as it sold 21,154 units during May 2012 as compared to 16,702 units in May 2011.
Pravin Shah, Chief Executive (Automotive Division), Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “We are happy to have achieved a growth of 28 per cent during May 2012 in spite of difficult and uncertain market conditions. All our brands, especially those in the personal category are doing well.”
Meanwhile, M&M has registered 44% rise in its net profit during the fourth quarter ended 31 March, 2012 with the help of robust volume growth.
