Microsoft founder meets Akhilesh Yadav

LUCKNOW: Microsoft Founder Bill Gates has met with state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in the state capital today.

Gates is on a day-long visit to the state. They were likely to deliberate on healthcare programmes in the state that Gates is planning to take up take up via the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is a charitable organisation that he runs along with his wife.

Reports suggest that the members of the Gates' foundation have had held preliminary meetings with the state government officials from the health and family welfare department.

Gates was also likely to table a five-point programme to introduce his foundation's plans in healthcare across segments such as maternal care, nutrition, family planning and child health care.
