MALDA: While announcing different developmental projects for this district during her visit, State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that it offers considerable scope for the small-scale industrial units.
Banerjee stated that 13 model schools, seven hostels, six polytechnic institutes, a law college and a multi-speciality hospital would come up in the district and also various hospitals would be upgraded.
Moreover, a Rs 41-crore water supply project for Englishbazar municipality will be started, a Rs 40 crore Silk Park along with an Information Technology hub would be set up as well.
She also said that work has already started to tackle the Ganga erosion problem. Also, a bridge would be constructed to link the Bhutni 'char' and Manikchak and three municipalities would be constituted in Chachol, Gajol and Kaliachak.
Presently, she is on a tour to five districts, which started with Nadia and Murshidabad. She is slated to visit North and South Dinajpur districts.
