MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) has announced selling 3,849 of net 4,034 flats across the city via a publicly conducted lottery. This was the fourth lottery, which was successfully organized by Mhada.
The fifth lottery for the sale of nearly 2,229 flats, which are presently under construction in Powai, Magathane in Borivli and Pratiksha Nagar in Sion, is scheduled to be held in May 2012.
185 flats reserved under three categories of chief minister (CM)'s quota, physically challenged, and legislators and Parliamentarians have been held back on numerous grounds and 81 flats under CM's quota have not been auctioned since chief minister Prithviraj Chavan has not decided yet if flats under his discretionary quota should be scrapped, 40 flats have also been kept aside after a court order hearing a petition demanding surge in the quota for physically handicapped from 2% to 3%.
