BHOPAL: The car makers are looking to tap the smaller Indian cities and towns as markets for their products, mainly sale of luxury vehicles. Presently in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal an Auto Expo is held. Minimum 14-major manufacturers, consisting of Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, BMW, Jaguar, Renault, and Mahindra and Mahindra, have participated in the four-day trade fair.
The car manufacturers are of the opinion that markets such as Bhopal are on the right growth path. Industry experts feel that the preferred choice of the affluent and young are helping in the rise of the market.
Meanwhile, BMW has said that it is mulling to have its own service centre in the state by the end of the next quarter. Jaguar Land Rover is also in the process of choosing a dealer in the state.
At the fair, Jagaur has been displayed. The which comes with the price tag of Rs 41 Lakh, has sold a couple of its models in the state and also received booking order for dozen before the unveiling of its showroom in Indore.
Mitsubishi Pajero, has stated that it has been selling more in Bhopal as compared to the other states and also Nagpur. Mitsubishi will unveil its luxury sedan Lancer Evolution X (also known as Evo 10) at the cost of Rs 50 lakh in this city.
