Labour unrest at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant turns violent

MANESAR: The stand-off between the management of Maruti Suzuki and the workers at its plant located here becomes violent today as a group of company supervisors were attacked on their way to work, leaving five of them injured.

As per the police, one of the company's worker at the Manesar plant, has been found involved to the incident. Presently, the medical examination of two injured employees is being carried and the FIR of the incident will be filed later.

The other three supervisors that sustained injuries in the attack have been admitted to Artemis Hospital here and after first aid process they have been discharged.

Condemning the attack on its supervisors, the company said, “This was another desperate action by the striking workers, using violence and fear. By such violent acts, the striking workers have polluted the environment in Manesar. Such actions are damaging for the industrial climate in the Manesar belt. This will destroy jobs and prosperity in the region.”

Today morning, a group of people near the factory of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India's Manesar plant have stooped a group of 11 supervisors who were on their way to work and were allegedly attacked.

The standoff between the MSI management and workers was started on August 29, after the company's management had prohibited the workers to enter the factory premises without inking a 'good conduct' bond.
