Kozhikode to host 14th state conference of Ayurveda Medical Association of India on Jan 21 & 22

KOZHIKODE: The Ayurveda Medical Association India (AMAI) is all set to organise its 14th state conference here on January 21 & 22, 2012.

Themed on 'Ayurveda for Social Health', the conference will discuss the various functional aspects of Ayurveda industry in social health aimed to bring a better health plan, as per the Dr Manoj Kaloor, General Convenor of the organising committee.

He also positioned Ayurveda as the sole medical system to meet the requirements of preventive and promotive healthcare needs.

Dr Manoj also called for the schemes aimed to advance medicinal plant cultivation, passing on Ayurvedic health education among the young population and also to unleash the systematic Ayurvedic measures to deal with lifestyle diseases such as diabetes.

The meet is expected to witness the active participation of around 200 delegates. The speakers at the conference include entrepreneur and policy-maker, Mr Sam Pitroda, and the former vice-chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Mr BM Hegde.

The organisers of the conference will felicitate Padma Bhushan Dr PK Warrier during the meet and Mr MK Raghavan, Member of Parliament, will address the participants. AMAI will felicitate the members elected to Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) from Kerala.
