KOLKATA: Taxi operators across the state will go on a 48-hour strike starting from June 6, demanding a further increase in night fares and against growing atrocious acts of police.

The taxi fares between 10.30 PM and 6 AM should be increased over 30 per cent, as per the Bimal Guha, President, Bengal Taxi Association.

Recently, the State Transport Department announced a 15 per cent increase in night fares.
