MUMBAI: The problems for debt-ridden Kingfisher Airlines has once again started today with minimum 30 flights either being cancelled or even clubbed as various pilots and other staffers have decided not to report for work to protest against the delays in the salary payments.
Minimum 13 flights from Mumbai have been cancelled and no flights operated from Kolkata today. Nine departures from Delhi were also either cancelled or clubbed. Mere three direct flights each way have been available on the Mumbai-Delhi sector, which has seven-daily services.
Reports suggest that few flights were being cancelled as a result of employee agitation due to the delayed salaries.
Kingfisher's bank accounts have been frozen last month due to the outstanding dues. The cash-strapped airline has got a debt of almost $1.3 billion.
