BANGALORE: State Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has unveiled 'Amrut Bhoomi', which is a Rs 200-crore organic farming scheme, with the aim to strengthen organic farming.
Centre earmarked the amount in the budget in a bid to enhance organic farming and 5.28 lakh farmers would be benefiting from the scheme.
The scheme is likely to be implemented in four lakh hectares. Farmers would be sent to Cuba and Israel for studying the organic farming model in these nations.
