BANGALORE: Tata Coffee has posted more than two-fold jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 31.84 crore for the quarter ended June 30 with the help of improved sales during the three-month period.
The company registered net profit of Rs 13.59 crore during the April-June period in 2011. The consolidated overall income from operations in the first quarter of the present financial year rose by 23.57% to Rs 413.73 crore as against Rs 334.82 crore in the same period last year.
Tata Coffee Limited engages in growing, curing, manufacturing, marketing, retailing and exporting coffee and tea in India and internationally. The company owns 19 coffee estates and 7 tea estates located in the districts of Coorg, Hassan, and Chickmagalur districts of Karnataka, including one coffee estate and five tea gardens in the Annamallais region of Tamil Nadu.
