NEW DELHI: For uninterrupted supply of uranium to India’s nuclear plants, Russia has opened up its territory for joint ventures in mining uranium.
"We have offered the Indians participation in the uranium mining projects in the Russian Federation and thirds countries. The controlling stake in the joint projects must remain with Rosatom and the partners could get up to 49 percent share in the projects inside Russia," said, Sergei Novikov, Spokesman, State Corporation Rosatom.
During the 16th session of Indo-Russian Inter Governmental Commision held in New Delhi, the talks for joint venture were held between Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) and Sergei Kiriyenko, CEO, Rosatom.
