JAMMU: A State Planning Board will be established during this year to attain development targets in the state, said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Abdullah further said, “There is need for comprehensive planning as an important aspect in the equitable and holistic development of the state and a State Planning Board is being constituted this year to achieve development goals in consonance with the aspirations of the people.” This statement came while he was chairing a meeting of the Jammu District Development Board.
At the meeting, Rs 105-crore plan was approved for Jammu district for the ongoing financial year. The state government is negotiating Rs 500-crore project with Asian Development Bank for the supply of safe drinking water by utilising Chenab water.
