NEW DELHI: India's prominent software company Infosys is mulling to hire nearly 2,000 people in the US by year-end.
Infosys said in a statement, “Infosys hired 1,200 people in the US in 2011, and has already added more than 1,000 employees in the country this year. Total US recruitment is expected to be close to 2,000 by the end of 2012.”
In the last few months, anti-outsourcing drive against Indian Inc gained pace in the US and the European Union (EU), which are considered as the key markets for the local software and IT service firms.
US has been objecting to the offshoring of work by their firms to nations such as India to retain jobs back home.
Infosys announced the expansion of its US operations by establishing a new 125-seater centre in Wisconsin to offer end-to-end technology, consulting and systems integration services. The centre will have a training center.
Infosys now has 18 facilities in the US and is committed to local job creation issue.
