NEW DELHI: India's Indirect Tax Collection has rose 44.4 per cent to Rs 1, 50,686 crore during first six month of the current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding period in previous financial year.
"The collection rose to Rs 1,50,686 crore during April-September 2010. There is an increase of 44.4% in revenue collections at all India level during April-September 2010 as compared to the corresponding period in previous year," an official statement said on Wednesday.
According to the statement issued by Finance Ministry the revenue collections rises 66.8% to Rs 63,229 crore as against the year-ago period. Collections from central excise rose 40.7 per cent to Rs 60,834 crore, while service tax collections verified a 14.8 per cent rise to Rs 26,623 crore.
