HYDERABAD: India Post is offering 6 per cent rebate on gold coins of various denominations on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, as announced by the Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Circle.
Akshaya Tritiya is the third day of the new moon of Vaishakh month (April-May) and buying gold is considered as an important aspect of the festival that is on April 24.
The festival offer will be available at designated post offices across Andhra Pradesh on gold coins of 0.5 g, 8 g, 10 g, 20 g and 50 g of 24 carat and 99.99 per cent purity.
India Post, in association with the World Gold Council and Reliance Money Infrastructure Ltd, will start selling gold coins made by Switzerland's Valcambi in 2008. Presently, gold coins are available at over 800 post offices across the country.
