BANGALORE: Huawei, China-based telecom equipment company, has established its product development centre in the city. This facility is fully dedicated for designing and development of software and test mobile handsets in the country.
According to P Sanjeev, Director-Sales, Huawei India Device Business Department, the new centre will design mobile phones and software to have access to the inside as well as testing of the products as per the requirements of the Indian market. It is said to be a good collaboration between the software might of India and manufacturing speciality of China.
Huawei has also introduced three smartphones in India, such as IDEOS X2, IDEOS X5 and IDEOS Chat. Apart from that, the company has said to launch eight to ten new mobile phones from Rs 5000 and above, especially targeting the youth segment in the country. “We will target smartphones, tablets as well as 3G-featured phones in India,” said, Anand Narang, Huawei India Device Business Department Director-Marketing and Solutions.
