Himalaya Optical plans expansion across India, to open 15-new outlets by 2012-end

KOLKATA: Himalaya Optical, a retail chain in vision care business, has decided to add 15 more stores by the end of 2012. The firm has said that it will be starting six stores in Gujarat, said Rajesh Bagri, Retail Head of Himalaya Optical.

Currently, it has got three stores in Ahmedabad and the new outlets will be opened in Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot.

After the completion of expansion in Gujarat, the firm would be opening the rest of the outlets in Southern India and Northeast region.

The company aims to stress on the sunglasses market. Although, the sunglass market is witnessing slow growth in the country, but it is expected to go up in the near future.
