NEW DELHI: The city-based cigarette maker, Godfrey Phillips India (GPI), has registered nearly three-fold increase in its net profit at Rs 62.44 crore for the April-June 2011 quarter.
In the corresponding period previous year, the net profit of the company stood at Rs 22.73 crore.
For the three months ended June 2011, the net sales of the company grew 18.76% to Rs 425.22 crore, as against Rs 358.02 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
The company is engaged in the production and distribution of cigarette, tobacco, and tea products in India. It also offers unmanufactured tobacco and mouth freshener. The company sells its cigarette products under the Marlboro, Four Square, Red and White, Cavanders, FS1, Force 10, North Pole, Jaisalmer and tipper brands.The company also sells pan masala under Pan Vilas brand and tea under Symphony brand.
