CHENNAI: Low-cost carrier GoAir would start operations from here from May 1, said CEO Giorgio De Roni.
Roni said, “We are starting our operations in Chennai from this May 1 and the city will be our 22th destination. We are expecting two A320s this fiscal.”
GoAir got 11 aircraft in its fleet and would be having 20 by the end of 2015 and 72 flights of A320neo (A320 with New Engine Option) by the year 2016.
The company would unveil double daily round trip services between Chennai and Mumbai, a daily flight between Chennai and Pune and five weekly flights between Chennai and Port Blair.
Presently, GoAir has 30,000 flight services consisting more than 50,000 flight hours carrying four-million passengers to 21 destinations.
