MUMBAI: GoAir, a city-based low cost domestic airline, offers first two rows in its aircraft as ‘business comfort class’ with window and aisle seats to passengers for capturing a larger marketshare and expand operations. The passengers will be provided with free in-flight meals at an extra cost of Rs 2,000.
Mr Praveen Nair, general manager (sales), GoAir, said, “This segment has been growing at over 25 per cent. There are restrictions in some companies that employees only of certain levels can travel business class. We are trying to cater to those who want the comfort of business class without having to pay that much.”
Currently, GoAir has a market share of 5.7%. It recently added four destinations — Patna, Pune, Leh, Lucknow — and two new Airbus A320s to its network.
