NEW DELHI: Domestic budget carrier GoAir, is all set to launch six new regular flights to Kolkata, Ranchi and Port Blair October 8. The low cost carrier is also considering to induct three Airbus A320 aircraft between October and April, 2012.
The addition of three new routes across Kolkata, Ranchi and Port Blair will take the airline's network count 21 destinations across India, with 588 weekly flights.
The flights to all these station will originate from the national capital and is offering the earliest morning arrival to Kolkata from Delhi.
Earlier in June this year, the airline has placed a $7.2 billion order with Airbus in order to fulfill the growing demand for air travel in the country. Besides GoAir, other no frills carriers, including IndiGo and SpiceJet are are also following the suit with the expansion of regional operations.
Few days back, SpiceJet has announced the launch of a regional operation based out of Hyderabad with four Bombardier turboprop aircraft. Presently, SpiceJet has 34 planes to its fleet and is mulling to add another 11 aircrafts by July-end.
